【海上自衛隊】自衛隊が本気を出した！“不審船キラー”はやぶさ型ミサイル艇 夜間も時速80Km！逃がすか不審船！
平成１１年３月２３日、石川県能登半島沖で
海上自衛隊のＰ３Ｃ哨戒機が
日本の漁船にふんした
北朝鮮の工作船２隻を発見した。
海自の護衛艦や哨戒機、
海上保安庁の巡視艇などが追跡。
停船を呼びかけるが工作船はそれを無視し、
最大３５ノット（時速約６５キロ）の
ハイスピードで逃走した。
政府は海上自衛隊に初となる
海上警備行動を発令したものの、
工作船を取り逃がす結果となった。
いわゆる「能登半島沖追跡事件」だ。
この苦い経験から誕生したのが
海自の「はやぶさ」型ミサイル艇だ。
船体の全長は５０メートルと小型だが、
即応性、機動性に優れることから
“不審船キラー”の異名を取る。
